A construction site on Main Street is the future home of the Greenspaces Initiative Resource Center. Greenspaces Director Jeff Cannon explains what this means. "It'll serve as an education point for builders, realtors contractors and developers but also the public at large. They can come in here and have a passive experience of learning about different green building techniques."
The site will showcase environmentally friendly construction. "Some of the obvious things were doing: we're using a building that's already built and that's one of the greenest things you can possibly do," adds Cannon.
The roof is recycled material and soybeans. One bathroom will use treated rainwater for the sink, shower and toilet while the other reuses the sink's water to flush the commode. Read more at WDEF News 12.
